Biography

Dana Pajarillaga is a queer, Filipina-American dancer and video/image artist living in Berlin. They have actively engaged with intersectional feminism, anti-racism, and protest, through their work as a performer. They have recently toured throughout Europe, North American, and Rio de Janeiro as a dancer on The Celebration Tour with Madonna. A BFA Graduate of The Juilliard School and a former demi-soloist at the Staatsballett Berlin, they have performed the works of Sharon Eyal, Merce Cunningham, Nacho Duato, Jerome Robbins, Jefta van Dinther, Christoph Winkler, and RUBBERBAND; in Montreal, New York, Toronto, Seoul, Taipei and Berlin. Dana has also toured with LEV dance company with several productions. Dana was collaborator and performer with Jefta van Dinther in the creation and premier of "Unearth" in Tanz im August in Berlin. In their personal projects and how they engage with the community, they work to dismantle the systematic racism that is inherent in contemporary art and the dance world at large.
