Matthew Evan Schroeder

Biography

Matthew Schroeder is a New York City based dancer, choreographer, and teacher who is a company dancer with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company under the direction of Igal Perry. Matthew received his BFA in Dance Performance from Chapman University where he was trained by notable teachers and choreographers such as Ido Tadmor, Jennifer Backhaus, Julianne O'Brien, Charles Maple, and Lawrence Rosenberg. He has freelanced all over the country performing with dance companies such as Backhaus Dance, Pacific Ballet Dance Theatre, Redondo Ballet Company. He has danced in music videos, dance and fashion films, live dance concerts & galas such as Ballet Continuum, and Dance For Life presented by Desmond Richardson and Phil Wilson. Matthew has been featured in works for choreographers such as Igal Perry, Ido Tadmor, Desmond Richardson & Dwight Rhoden of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Igal Perry, Jessica Lang, Mats Ek & Talia Paz, Dolly Sfeir, Chanel DeSilva, and Lula Washington to name a few. He is also a freelance choreographer and has set multiple works for concerts and evens in New York, Los Angeles, and Vienna, at Chapman University and at various dance local dance studios. Previously, Matthew was an apprentice with Backhaus Contemporary Dance, directed by Jennifer Backhaus and is also currently signed with Go 2 Talent Agency working bicoastally.
