Biography
Madi Tanguay (she/her) is a New York based, queer movement-artist, whose work is cultivated in the arts and academic fields. She is currently with Gibney Company, joining as an artistic associate in 2023. Formerly LA based, she worked with Micaela Taylor and the TL Collective, premiering works from film to stage. With multi-hyphenate tendencies, she holds two degrees from UCLA in International Development and World Cultures. Her practice expands to film, directing and choreographing visual worlds for the music artist EREZ. Madi has performed works by Sharon Eyal, Johan Inger, Jermaine Spivey + Spenser Theberge, and Ethan Colangelo. She attributes her inspiration and study to Springboard Danse Montreal and Hubbard Street Professional program under the direction of Alexandra Wells. Tanguay’s artistry has been recognized by The YoungArts Foundation and The Music Center’s Spotlight.
