Max Cookward

Biography

Max Cookward is an award-winning, queer, London-based movement artist whose work spans across performance, choreography, movement direction, research and teaching. Max has created work for clients including the V&A, Dua Lipa, MSGM Milano, Tappan Collective, Jordan Luca and Tim Walker with their work being shown on platforms such as Dazed, AnOther, Vogue and Nowness. In 2022 Max won a Ciclope Award for their work as a choreographer. As a performer, Max has performed internationally in works by artists including Ohad Naharin, Damien Jalet + Sidi Larbi, Andrea Miller, Magnus Westwell, Rambert 2, Theo Adams Company and Benoit Swan Pouffer. They have danced for artists including Years and Years, Harry Styles, ABBA, The Pet Shop Boys, Elton John, Kylie Minogue Ellie Goulding and for fashion brands such as Adidas Y3 and Moncler. They trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance where they received a 1st class BA & MA. They were also a category finalist in the BBC Young Dancer competition 2019.
