    Emma Evelein Dance & Choreography


Emma Evelein is dancer, choreographer and director. She graduated at the Amsterdam School of Arts in urban/contemporary dance and physical theatre in 2015. After her studies she danced, performed with companies like Fresco Dance Company (IS) and trained with Kibbutz Contemporary dance Company (IS) and Batsheva Dance Company (IS). She danced on the Biennale Venice in 2015 and was entitled as emerging dancer by ELLE magazine in 2016. In 2014 Emma started to choreograph for film, it was there and then her love for the combination was developed. After her company life she started her own company in choreography for theatre and dance. As of this moment she has 32 film works and 12 theatre works on her name, like music video’s commercials, short film, fashion/art film and feature film. For her work ‘A flood remains’, ‘Sisters’, ‘White rooms’, ‘Wolves’ and others she won choreographic and directing prices national- and internationally. Emma is one of the emerging choreographers in Springboard Danse Montreal, one of most known dance platforms in the world, where she will work in 2021. She has choreographed and teaching her choreography and dance methods in over 23 countries. In 2021 she won the NDT partnership award, where she will have a choreographic intership together with Remy Tilburg. Next to that she is a guest teacher at the Amsterdam School of Arts in urban/contemporary dance and physical theatre. Next to her work she researches her vision on choreography and dance film and coaches’ other directors in movement in film.
