Derek Tabada

Biography

Originally from Indianapolis, IN, Derek Tabada is a movement artist and dance educator based in Los Angeles, CA. His upbringing in ballet, modern, and jazz dance is informed with other movement practices: yoga, functional-range conditioning, and pole dance/sport. He is a member of Entity Contemporary Dance and has taught and performed at workshops, festivals & exhibitions around the globe. Tabada has appeared in world tours with artists Kesha & Lorde. He has been seen in music videos and on televised award shows The Oscars, The Grammys & MTV’s VMA’s alongside artists Kesha, XTINA, The Weekend, Katy Perry, Lorde, Giveon and Walk the Moon. He is also seen on screen in commercials for UNIQLO & OnStar. Derek plans to perform or creatively support projects that spotlight dance in the commercial industry; interested particularly in those that marry concert and commercial movement.
