Biography
Maia Schechter grew up in Glen Rock PA where she found her love for dance. She graduated from UMBC with a Bachelor's in Dance and a completion of their Pre-Physical Therapy Program. She moved to NYC in 2018 where she began dancing with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. She then transitioned into freelancing where she has worked with institutes like Dance Lab NYC and choreographers like Lauren Lovette, Reed Luplau, and Roderick George. In 2022, Maia had the honor of performing at the 2022 Met Gala, choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler and hosted by Vogue Magazine and The Costume Institute. She then went on to travel North America with the National Tour of Disney's The Lion King: Rafiki Tour. Currently Maia is performing as a vacation swing with The National Tour of Moulin Rouge: The Musical! and is represented by Clear Talent Group.
