Seeking:
  • Professional female or female-identifying contemporary dancer.
  • Age Range: 18 - 40 years old.
  • All ethnicities are welcome.
  • Dancers who have experience in immersive theater, musical theater, and/or audience interaction/engagement is a plus.
  • All talent must work as a local.

Project Description:
  • This live multimedia dance project/presentation explores how AI is helping with the climate crisis and also focuses on climate storytelling through dance, theater, and motion capture. The performance/gathering will happen on April 3rd at the Movement Lab at Barnard College where the director, Mary John Frank, is currently a research artist in residence. Through climate research guided by teachers and staff at prominent climate schools & universities, RESET (working title) will personify this unique and urgent time of transitioning away from fossil fuels to renewables. The role being cast will involve 2-3 short solos/movement installations with some brief audience interaction.  The project is fiscally sponsored by The Field with support from the Movement Lab, and NYU Tandon School of Engineering. 
Dates:
  • Callbacks: March 18 or 19 (4:00 PM - 7:00 PM) and March 20, 2024 (10:00 AM - 11:30 AM)
  • Rehearsal: April 1 - 2, 2024 (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
  • Performance: April 3, 2024 (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
Rates:
  • Rehearsal & Fitting: $50 USD per hour
  • Performance: $650 USD
Additional Notes:
  • Usage: This is a live performance, images and video may be used to promote the work, for future grant applications, or on websites connected to the director's work.
  • Performers may use images and footage shared with them post-performance.
