CASTING NOTICE

We are looking to cast over 30 professional dancers, from ages 18-40, All genders, All ethnicities, and All levels of experience from corps/ensemble to principal. We are specifically seeking:

Strong classically trained dancers with a background in modern or contemporary. Pointe work and partnering are required for certain pieces.

Contemporary or modern dancers with a background in ballet.

Freestyle dancers with a background in ballet or contemporary who excel at any form of dance other than ballet, modern or contemporary. We are particularly interested in African and street styles but open to any forms of dance.

Fused is a full-length dance production, composed of 6 different pieces, with for theme the fusion of ballet with various different dance styles.

Rehearsals dates: May 13th - August 18th, 2022.

Performance dates: August 19th and 20th 2022.

Rehearsals will begin on Friday, May 13th, and take place every other Friday and all Saturdays and Sundays until (approximately) the end of July when all Fridays and Mondays (if necessary) will be added to the schedule; so Friday-Monday. The rehearsal schedule will remain consistent so pieces will always be rehearsed the same day, with no more than 8 hours of rehearsal per day and 4 hours per piece.

Dancers must be available for run-throughs on August 15th and 16th and a dress rehearsal at the Alex Theatre on August 18th. 

DOE. Dancers will be on payroll and paid hourly for rehearsals and performances. Rates start at $16 USD/hr for entry-level dancers, $23 USD/hr for soloists, and $25 USD/hr for principals. Rates are negotiable for principals. 

All dancers must be 18 years or older and legal to work in the US.

All dancers must be fully vaccinated (with a booster) against COVID-19 and be able to show proof of vaccination.

Usage:3 Live Performances at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA.

In-person auditions will take place in Pasadena, CA on March 27th, 2022, and April 3rd, 2022.
