Fall. Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall. Brighton Beach, Coney Island, Ft. Tilden—alive and bright, humming with the vibrancy of a thousand people caught up in its glow. When her boyfriend Yuri goes back to Ukraine to be with his ailing father, twenty-three-year-old Dakota navigates surviving on her own as a subway singer amidst the hardships of a fast-changing New York City and the everyday events that are slowly changing South Brooklyn into a precarious playground of the unknown.
We are casting ANNA (25-30), Dakota's next-door neighbor who is a student by day and a dancer at a Coney Island strip club by night. She becomes a type of big sister/protector to Dakota as she navigates early adulthood.
